With the start of these games only being a few weeks back, many Pennsylvanian casinos are gearing up to offer the new games, and while doing so a lot of new jobs in the gambling industry in Pennsylvania have become available.
Besides the expected gains in gambling tax revenues, bringing back the unemployment rate was also a major decisive factor for changing the gambling laws of Pennsylvania. This being said, it came as a surprise, that Sands Casino in Bethlehem reported having to bring in employees from outside, due to the fact that there were not enough local applicants for the jobs available.
It is believed that the requirements the popular casino sent out accompanying the job vacancies were aimed to high. Sands casino did state that it would have liked to have hired more local personnel, and added to this fact that there are still sixty dealer jobs available.
Whether or not other casinos are having similar difficulties in filling the job vacancies with local employees is at this point unknown. Therefore it is too soon to tell whether or not this will have an impact on the unemployment figures that were projected by the state of Pennsylvania.
