In an effort to expand its presence in the Asian market, Playtech has agreed to exclusive licensing terms with Mahjong gaming software company, TankSoft. The agreement gives Playtech the right to offer country specific versions of TankSoft’s mahjong games by the end of this year. “We have 11 sites that cater specifically for the Asian market that have been requesting mahjong games from us,” said Avigur Zmora, Playtech’s CEO. “In order to ensure the quality of product that our licensees have come to expect from Playtech we have been careful to find the best partner in this field. In TankSoft we believe we have found that partner. By the end of 2006 we will have added TankSoft’s market leading games and functionality to Playtech’s tried and tested core gaming platform which will help us to further penetrate the Asian market.” TankSoft’s CEO, Dr. Tai Up Kim, has been involved with the game of Mahjong for over the 30 years and the TankSoft company has been developing Mahjong products since 2000.
