Rival Gaming, a new gaming software provider, plans to unveil its Mac compatible and interactive slots this May at the Global Interactive Gaming Summit (GIGSE). And the unveiling has been accompanied by a lot of hype, as Rival Gaming has made a point of emphasizing that their software will be accessible by PDA and MAC casino players. (Not to be overlooked is the fact that such a development gives Rival Gaming licensees access to the estimated 15 million Mac owners worldwide). The company has chosen the GIGSE, held at Montreal’s Palais des Congrès from May 16-18th, to introduce and familiarize the online gaming industry with their new product and it is a product that is definitely receiving a lot of fanfare. Rival claims that the i-Slots are drastically different from classic slot games because of the many extras that have been added to the i-Slots. These include animated video clips, bonus interactive mini-games and evolving storylines that unfold over the course of the game. While the games have been available to the public for a few weeks through four new online casinos owned by The 400 Group out of Curacao, the real launch of the game will be at the GIGSE, which is also where most people in the industry will become familiar with the product. Many software developers have been claiming that their games are interactive,” said Scott Giesbrecht, Managing Director at Rival Gaming. “But when we looked at slots, we saw that we had a real opportunity to offer players something that was far more captivating - and more fun - than anything they’d ever seen.” According to Rival, they have two significant advantages over their competition. The first is that their casino software is now fully downloadable to Windows and AppleMac. The second advantage is that Rival has now made it possible for its operators to view their reports via Blackberry or other PDA – in other words they can view their casino data from anywhere. Ultimately, however, the real draw to the Rival booth at the GIGSE is the i-Slot itself. “People are going to have to see it to believe it,” boasts Ken McCormack, VP Corporate Marketing at Rival. “We’re talking about something that not only makes playing a single game far more entertaining - but one that’s going to keep players coming back for more.” Posted on: June 2, 2006
