He has returned to Sportingbet after his arrest on a visit to New York with a Louisiana state sealed warrant, Peter Dicks, aged sixty five, then hit the headlines in 2006. This 2006 extradition to Louisiana for the honorable man of business, was stopped by the New York governor, was then resultantly freed of all further pestering by his resignation from the directorate of Sportingbet, when at the same time in order to get rid of the warrant, the company had to pay a four hundred thousand dollar settlement to the authorities of Louisiana. The old-hand businessman's experience and tactics this week, who chaired the company from January 2006 up to his problems in the same year, was reinserted into the Sportingbet flock when Dicks from February 1st is to get the non-executive chairman appointment. Also coming into an appointment of Group Finance Director on February 1st at Sportingbet is forty one year old James Wilkinson. The latter carries with him a wide listed companies and finance record to provide Sportingbet which includes his 2004 to 2007 Johnson Service Group plc. He held a position at Informa Group plc previously to that which he served for ten years in an assortment of positions reaching its peak in the 1998 to 2004 Group Finance Director post. In 1991, James graduated as a chartered accountant at Touche Ross where he began his career. Sportingbet's CEO, Andrew Mclver, remarked that he was very happy to bring in to the Group both Jim and Peter. Furthermore, they started out on considerable business restructure in the wake of October 2006's Unlawful Internet Gaming Enforcement Act and resulting pullout form the American market. He said further that they have completed the personnel moves as part of that restructure and as a result of the two appointments which have finished the process. Since 2006, he continues to add, the restructuring and additional ventures performed, have provided the Group a robust base from which to provide expansion in the future. They are encouraged by the present trade and feel assured that they are on the right path to deal with the anticipated full annual events. Posted on: February 4, 2008
