“These holidays only come once a year and every year it’s the same. It’s snowing, the temperature outside is below zero, the roads are impassable and we spend yet another holiday on our own because none of the family can get here. Why are we living in this snowbound wilderness?” I heard my wife Lauren’s complaint and decided to make this New Year’s Eve a holiday she will never forget and which will stop her complaining about Alaska. We are going to gamble online all the way through it. We will spice it up a bit and have at least one other couple to stay over and we’ll have a ball. I called Jack and Lisa Smith, our nearest neighbors who live about ten miles away and they were delighted with the invitation. “We’ll be there and we’re bringing the drinks!” they promised. I bought two extra presents for them and started setting the stage for our all-day, all-night and all-day online gambling and New Year’s celebration. I checked the online casinos and found that the Silver Slipper was throwing a Christmas Gambling Extravaganza with dozens of extra games and special holiday low prices. I signed up for the Raucous Roulette, the Strip Roulette and the Blindfold Blackjack. We were almost ready to go! Lauren finished preparing the sumptuous dinner, I poured a couple of glasses of wine and we sat on the rug in front of the fireplace and waited for the Smiths. They came at last, wet, frozen and dripping inside the front door. “Oh, wow, look at this,” cooed Lisa as she stripped off her wet clothes. “Let’s play strip poker in reverse - the winner gets to put something on!” We all laughed and I poured hot mulled wine for everyone. “Let’s gamble online! What’ll it be?” I yelled. We played roulette for 2 days and 1 night with breaks only to eat and a few short naps. Lisa, who has started with no clothes, finished with no clothes. I lost a few strategic articles, while Jack and Lauren were outright winners. Our vote at the end of the holiday – the online casino is the only way to spend New Year’s Day!
