This week's successful launching by Life of Sports Inc.'s University Poker Championship in Britain and the United States, for the weekly free roll contest outlay in cooperation with Britain's Cake Poker.com and the US's Poker Stars.com. Any student resident in one of Britain's colleges or universities is permitted to enter the UPC, the University Poker Championship. A huge prize which comprises one year's free studies and a ticket for the July 2008 Las Vegas 2008 World Series of Poker Main Event will be in the offing for competitors. Some twelve thousand US dollars is the assessed WSOP award packet. According to Bob Classen, Life of Sports Inc.'s marketing director, this contest is unique in the country and participation in the qualifying rounds is completely free for the student to have the opportunity to win free tuition and a place at the Las Vegas World Series in the coming summer. The finals in April will comprise the participating best three weekly finalizing competitors. Students residents in the United States or Canada can participate in the North American UPC. The journey to European Poker Tour event is the award to be granted to the great prize winner together with free studies, this prize comprises travel costs and tournament buy in for the EPT. According to Carly Sawers, the spokesperson of Poker Stars.com, they are thrilled to be associated with this event as it provides students the chance to enhance their education by cost-free studies and also grants them the opportunity to participate in the European Poker Tour with the possibility of visiting Europe. Players also compete weekly in the free roll style Internet contest of the North American UPC. The final rounds in April will have the best three weekly competitors participating.
