Toulouse Football Club to be Sponsored by 888.com Gambling Group

888.com, the Gibraltar-based gambling group, has signed on to become the official sponsors of the Toulouse Football Club for the next two seasons. 888.com’s agreement to become the football club’s sponsor takes effect this week and is the latest venture in 888's diverse, multi-channel marketing strategy. The group has begun targeting an increasingly non-US customer base.

According to a company spokesperson for 888.com, the sponsorship deal serves to compliment 888.com’s operational strategy of well-supported, multi-lingual websites and audiences that are currently maintained over 177 countries in up to 11 different languages.

In addition to the Toulouse Football Club sponsorship, 888.com also sponsors the Middlesbrough Football Club in England and the popular World Snooker Championship. The Sponsorship of the World Snooker Championship opened up marketing opportunities in major snooker strongholds in the Far East including China.

888.com’s Chief Executive Officer, John Anderson, said “Our investment in sports sponsorship has yielded terrific results to date in the UK, which was our fastest growing territory last year. Our strategy is to roll this out through Continental Europe and I am delighted to announce this agreement with Toulouse as evidence of that strategy being put into practice."

Even though 888.com's second quarter results showed a decline in new customer acquisitions, the gambling group did see an increase in the average amount that each customer spent.
