As a result of several new online poker rooms that recently joined the Ongame poker network, the Ongame Network Poker Classic has been not only rescheduled, but expanded as well, according to a recent announcement by Ongame. Poker players find the tournament, with its guaranteed prize pool of $5 million, extremely attractive and the addition of a $50,000 free roll for early bird qualifiers just enhances that attractiveness. Of the $5 million prize pool, an impressive one million will go to the overall winner. The Ongame Network Poker Classic is what is termed a "flight" tournament and begins online across all Ongame sites on November 4. It will play down to 45 players that will be flown, one month later, to the Casino de Barcelona, one of Europe’s premier casinos. Here, the players will have their electronic chip stacks translated into real-life equivalents, with the lion's share of the $5 million prize pool being awarded as well. The winner of the tournament will be crowned around December 3rd. To participate in the Ongame Network Poker Classic, players can opt to pay the $5,000 plus $200 buy-in rate or qualify through a number of satellites on Ongame network sites. Those qualifying via a satellite that secure their seats before midnight ET on September 2 will also qualify for the $50,000 bonus freeroll, which starts at 4:00 p.m. ET on September 3. The buy-ins for the single- and multi-tiered satellite qualifiers can be as little as one dollar. Posted on: August 27, 2006
