As with all levels of competition in this year’s World Series of Poker (WSOP), the Ladies Event is heating up as well. 888 Poker will be sponsoring the team at the upcoming 8000-player World Series of Poker event and it is quite a team. Many of the members are European players with formidable credentials. One of the members of the 888 Women’s poker team is none other than Tiffany Williamson -- the Gutshot regular with a 2005 main event 15th place to her name. Diamond winning Eunice Waterfield, winner of 888.com Women's Poker UK Open will also be there as will Rhowena Colclough, who is taking The Mansion Poker Dome event by storm. Respected poker player Veronique Gourdon makes up the final member of the ladies team. Members of the 888 Women’s poker team did not qualify via the Internet but rather are part of a professionally managed team that was carefully chosen by 888 Poker for high impact and exciting play. At last year’s event, Hollywood superstar Jennifer Tilly won the WSOP ladies bracelet but this year’s event is shaping up to be even tougher. It has even been rumored that socialite Paris Hilton and award winning film and television star Jennifer Anniston will be participating. "After the success of our Women's Poker U.K Open we thought it time to give something back to Ladies Poker," said Jonny Natas of 888.com. "There is no reason whatsoever that women cannot become major contenders in live poker, and this form of team sponsorship has potential to develop towards future women's poker tours." On July 6th, the 888 Poker team will travel to Las Vegas and immediately attend a poker boot camp. Irish poker legend Padraig Parkinson will be presiding over the boot camp and will conduct an intensive two day-training session to bring out the players’ best poker playing abilities and skills.
