All parties involved had anxiously awaited the day, as Harrington Raceway and Casino, geared up for offering the new table games to their customers. Throughout the week, games were offered on a small scale, but Friday May 28th was the day, the games would start full force, being the first of many to come in the Delaware region.
From this date on, all the popular table games will be available to players, in addition to the casino games that were already offered. like poker and slots. The games will be available 24/7 just like the games that were already available. The addition of the games, is the test case for increased casino activity in Delaware, that will lead to the state's rise as a gambling industry leader in the region. Since 2009, many changes have been made regarding the state's gambling laws, that go way beyond the scope of mere table games, but also impacts the laws on sports betting in a positive way. Besides Nevada, Delaware is the only region offering both gambling activities, without restrictions.
Many states all across the United States, are in the process of changing the laws on gambling, in their own way, but Delaware is the very first, to change, implement and execute the changes in the gambling laws, and to be able to present the first casino making use of these changes. With other states still working out the details, Delaware, will have the advantage of being the only new player on the scene for at least a while, which will give them the time to properly gain a strong foothold in the market and become well known as a popular gambling destination.
However, the first runner up, is closely followed by the state of Pennsylvania, where changes in gambling legislation have also been approved, and by the fourth of July of this year, we will see the first casinos offering table games in that region also, so time is short for Delaware, to make the impact they require to achieve the goal of becoming a leader in the Gambling industry of the United States. States like New York, Rhode Island and others are still discussing possible changes to their gambling laws, and are expected to follow suit, soon after.
Competition threatens from the East Coast as well, as Florida recently made changes to its legislation that makes gambling possible for a project between the established gambling organizations and the Seminole Indians, for building several fully fledged resorts, including casinos, located on the beaches of the Sunshine state.
It looks like a fresh wind is blowing through the whole country, that is bringing many changes regarding US gambling laws, and it is spreading to almost every state in the country. Where gambling is concerned we live in interesting times, and the big question remains: How will the government respond, on a national level, especially regarding its laws on online gambling.
