Diamond I Inc., a wireless gambling developer that has, until now, limited its focus to on-property remote gambling inside Las Vegas, has decided to expand its reach and target the Jamaican hotel and tourism industries. Toward that end, Diamond entered into a strategic alliance with Viking Productions, a Jamaica-based marketing and productions firm. The alliance will enable Diamond to bring WifiCasino GS to venues within the Jamaican hotel and tourism industries. "We are pleased to have formed this business relationship with Viking," said Diamond’s CEO, David Loflin. "We believe our video gaming products, including our wireless, hand-held WifiCasino GS, will have great appeal on the Island". Diamond I has aggressively pursued the development of a hand-held Wi-Fi-based gaming system to be used on the premises of casinos and resorts. Diamond’s gaming system is most widely used in casinos and resorts located in Nevada because of that states more progressive approach toward remote gambling systems. In fact, the Nevada legislature recently passed Nevada Law AB471, which authorizes the use of mobile communication devices for gaming in public areas in Nevada casinos. As a result, Diamond is now hoping to demonstrate its WifiCasino GS at a Las Vegas Hotel/Casino and, at the same time, apply for a gaming license in Nevada. Posted on: May 9, 2006
