In October, Barcelona, the dynamic Spanish beach city, will be the venue of international poker players according to the World Poker Tour's announcement that Spain is to be included in the timetable of Season 6. Owned by the Grup Peralada, and arranged for the Casino Barcelona, this fourteenth WTP competition will be filmed in the city. The cooperation between WPT and the Grup Peralada could possibly foretell the beginning of a progressive forward looking cooperation; both organizations are engaged in talks about further poker tournaments in Spain and the option of a tour in Spain that brings to the TV screens programs at Grup Peralada casinos and other venues including new South American and Portuguese concepts. Steve Lispcomb the CEO of WPT, described the partnership as a pioneering breakthrough and stated that the deal is of paramount importance to them as they progress with the expansion into the European market of their business. Oliver Zugel, the Casino division head of Grup Peralada, concurred stating that it will produce a new level for top poker tournaments televised in Europe and prepare the infrastructure for a tour throughout Iberia including Portugal's and Spain's other chief casinos.
