Apparently, it’s been a banner week for executive level changes at major online gambling operations. Within just the last week, ATE-Clarion, Ladbrokes, and PokerStars have all reported changes at the top levels of their organizations. Charlotte Skinner, a 28-year-old Business and Marketing graduate as well as a holder of a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing, was appointed by Clarion ATE to be the company’s new marketing manager. Ms. Skinner will be directly responsible for the London shows, ATEI, ICE, and ICEi. The new marketing manager brings with her experience in the event organizing industry as well as a background in marketing for high-profile organizations such as the Royal Automobile Club (RAC), Churchill Insurance and, most recently, Britain’s Ministry of Defense (MoD). In addition to the London shows, Ms. Skinner will also be involved in other areas of Clarion ATE’s business-to-business portfolio such as The Betting Show and the revamped AMUSE 2008. Joining in on the executive-level changes, was London-based Ladbrokes, which announced the appointment of Brian Wallace as the company’s new group finance director. Wallace will be replacing Rosemary Thorne who has decided to leave Ladbrokes in pursuit of other career challenges. The announcement of Wallace’s new position was made last Monday and, according to a company spokesperson, the new position takes effect immediately. Wallace was formerly deputy chief executive and group finance director of Hilton Group. Finally, the successful and popular global poker site, PokerStars.com, has hired Edward Ihre as the company’s new Director of Partners and Affiliates. Ihre, formerly of Ongame/Safeplay Ltd., will be responsible for identifying and building new growth opportunities. "I’m thoroughly looking forward to joining PokerStars.com," said Ihre. "It’s an exciting time to be working with such a well regarded and progressive company." Posted on: March 8, 2007
