After a successful week of satellite tournaments, the Micrograming Poker Network, reported that 34 satellite winners from 17 poker rooms on the network reaped a total of $400,000 worth of buy-ins to some of the largest land-based tournaments in the world. In just the last week alone, 20 players from eight different card rooms won packages to the EPT Dortmund event, which starts this week. The packages are worth $9,000. Moreover, ten more packages to the EPT Monte Carlo event, valued at $16,600 a piece, were also won by satellite players. The EPT Monte Carlo even runs from March 28th to April 1st. Additionally, on Sunday, March 4th the first of several online finals for the WSOP main event was concluded, producing four more winners who earned packages valued at $15,000 a piece. The Micrograming Poker Network also plans to offer satellites to six more WSOP events. The first prize winner of these events will receive $50,000 worth of buy-ins (to be spent on the player’s choice of tournaments), accommodations at a five-star hotel for up to 60 days, two return flights to Las Vegas and $3500 in spending money. Commenting on the generous package, Micrograming’s CEO, Roger Raatgever, said, “We believe it’s not enough for a network to just offer buy-ins to the best land-based tournaments in the world, which is why all our operators’ players are personally looked after by our dedicated Microgaming event team. Every one of their needs is catered to, from travel and accommodation through to on the ground support at the tournaments themselves. This is just another of the many reasons why more and more operators are choosing to move to our network every month. We wish all our players the best of luck in their upcoming tournaments.” Posted on: March 5, 2007
