Nigel Payne Not Planning on Leaving his Position as CEO at Sportingbet

Despite persistent rumors to the contrary, Nigel Payne has clearly stated that he has no plans to leave Sportingbet. Payne, who is CEO of the giant gambling group, seemed an obvious choice for PartyGaming who is seeking to replace outgoing CEO, Richard Segal. Segal is quitting his job as CEO of PartyGaming, citing “family reasons” connected to his decision not to move to Gibraltar where PartyGaming makes its headquarters.

The rumors circulating about Payne’s imminent departure from Sportingbet had a negative effect on the company’s shares. To dispel the rumor, Payne told reporters at Reuters news service that he had no intentions of leaving Sportingbet: "I am firmly locked into Sportingbet, and I have no desire to move elsewhere."
