Reports about the imminent pullout from the US market by the Tribeca Tables Network, which was acquired by Playtech last year, are an indication that some of the network’s sites, such as Doyle’s Room, Golden Palace, Poker Host and Straightflush have got to start looking for a new network if they want to continue operating in the US. At least one of the sites, Poker Host, wasted no time in finding a substitute network once Tribeca made the announcement. Poker Host is now planning to leave Tribeca and move over to the Micrograming Poker Network. Microgaming hosts over 40 online sites and accepts players from all but 11 US states. A Poker Host spokesperson remarked that the move would take place some time in the not-too-distant future: "We at Poker Host will still be accepting US players and therefore we will move to a new network, Prima Poker/ Microgaming. However the following states are banned for playing poker at Prima: Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington, and Wisconsin.” Tribeca’s announcement puts those sites still operating in the US under increased pressure to either join other networks that are still accepting US players, such as Microgaming, or to develop an entirely new network that can accept US players.
