In an effort to boost its ancillary services, the UK independent budget airline Flybe is now offering its customers a new online gambling service. The new service, which is similar to the services offered by Ryanair, lets visitors to the Flybe website play online casino games such as roulette and poker. Flybe partnered with Finnish gaming operator, PAF Group, in order to offer the service and it is expected to be available this week. Last year, rival airline, Ryanair, partnered with UK bingo website Jackpotjoy.com, to launch a Ryanair branded online gaming site. The deal between Flybe and PAF stipulates that PAF will provide the gaming license and access to the online games as well as handle the daily operations requirements. Flybe’s director of marketing, Simon Lilley, said: “It is an example of Flybe's continued efforts to build and improve our customer offering, through innovative partnerships with third parties.” Lilley added, “We are confident that our customers will enjoy and benefit from the offer of e-gaming entertainment via the Flybe website and expect other airlines to follow suit with similar deals.” Flybe is hoping to stimulate new revenue by initiating a strategy to develop new products and services under the Flybe brand and the new online gambling service they are offering is an example of this strategy. Another example of the strategy is Flybe Cruise, which offers Flybe customers the opportunity to join cruise ships like the QE2 and Oriana. This service was launched just last month. In addition, Flybe now has a flower delivery service and is currently considering offering a service where it would deliver duty free products to its airline customers after they have returned home from their flight.
