FUNTech subsidiary Skilljam is now operating a new range of lounge skill games offered by DirecTV.  The games featured include everything from Sudoku to Solitaire, Hotwheels to Jamtris, and Bejewelled to Poker.  The site also offers cash prizes for participants in its interactive skill games.

Currently players using the new facility can play simply by using their remote controls and in the near future Skilljam will launch television versions of eight of its online games.  These will include solitaire and free cell.

While not all of the DirecTV boxes and remote controls can access Game Lounge at present, those interested can view it by tuning into channel 110 and pressing the blue remote button. The games can be previewed for free for an entire month with a monthly game pass or one time with a single game pass.  The monthly game pass costs $5.99 and the single game pass costs $1.95.

There is also talk at DirecTV of interactive ‘plus’ games.  These games are designed for PVRs only and play from the PVR’s hard drive.  The ‘plus’ games are scheduled to come out in the near future.
