While we may have already heard about the Paddy Power “Poker 2006 - The State of Play" poker study when InfoPowa first reported on it, to really get a good laugh you have to actually read some of the findings of the survey. The survey, conducted earlier this year and directed at British and Irish poker players revealed the following:
The survey, which Paddy Power Poker claimed “delved deep into the hearts and minds of British and Irish poker players" was administered to over 500 poker players across Britain and Ireland and found that most poker players in Ireland are planning to vote for Fianna Fail in the next general election and most poker players in the United Kingdom tend to vote conservative. Another question on the survey asked players who they thought would win a poker match between George W. Bush, Osama Bin Laden, Tony Blair, Fidel Castro, Kim Jong Il and Saddam Hussein. Players placed their confidence overwhelmingly in Fidel Castro. Yet another question, asking which historical figure they would prefer to play with between Elvis Presley and gun slinger and poker legend Wild Bill Hickok, had most players responding with a preference for Elvis Presley. Unbelievably, nearly as many people wanted to play with Hitler as Jesus.
