While InfoPowa had previously reported on the Bodog Gambling Group’s venture into reality television, this week the full details on the reality series have been released and it makes for an interesting read. The six-episode reality show will be taped in March at the Bodog compound in Costa Rica and will be hosted by Bodog’s CEO and founder, Calvin Ayre. Beginning April 15th, there will be weekly Saturday late evening- early morning episodes, aired from 11PM to 1AM Eastern Standard Time. "We are on a mission to find the next poker star and eager to showcase the play hard aspects of the Bodog lifestyle," said Ayre. "Poker and television -- combined with Bodog-style entertainment -- will make for one heck of a show, and our next step into the world of reality TV." The serious will feature ten celebrities, ten professional poker players and twenty Bodog poker players and will follow, in detail, the poker-playing journey to the final table of each of the forty individual players. Players will be using their card-playing skills to try to capture a US $500,000 grand prize. Each episode will televise a poker game leading up to the sixth and final game. Winners of each game take home US $50,000 and get the chance to play and win at the final table for the half million dollar grand prize. Anyone interested in playing on the show must first set up an account on Bodog.net and submit a completed application questionnaire. If found eligible to play, you get the chance to win a trip to Ayre's estate in Costa Rica and to play alongside poker pros and celebrities in the globally broadcast network television series. In addition to the poker games, the reality show will also be showcasing Costa Rican excursions, Bodog Music artists and the rich lifestyle of the show's host. Posted on: February 19, 2006
