Norway’s internet gambling’s regulation has caused controversy for quite a while now in this state and there is a prohibition on all sorts of interactive online gaming at the present. The legal advisor to Norway’s Ministry of Cultural and Church Affairs, Rolf-Francis Sims, claims that the Norsk Tipping and Norsk Rikstoto monopolies could permit the participation on online actual land gaming features. The parliament in Norway legislated the proposed bill submitted by the Norwegian government concerning the outlawing of Norwegian payment processing to gambling sites which were distance and without license in December 2008. The bill comprised the feature of processing payments to distant gambling sites bereft of a license from Norway and categorised them as illegal auxiliary intervention in the holding and meditation of gaming which is not licensed. The Gaming Law and not the Financial Law maintains this prohibition. It has been claimed that the bill is acceptable as Norway is an appealing sphere for distant gambling and as many Norwegians access the internet, and as in Norway there is a considerable rise in online gamblers. Signs indicate that there are ever increasing social difficulties and fears that distant gambling poses a significant risk to the health of the general public. In April 2009, this proposal comprised specified regulations in regard to the outlawing and was submitted and notified for public deliberation. During the course of the new year it is anticipated that the bill and regulations will become enforced. Posted on: January 2, 2010
