It is official, according to the latest government figures there has been a decline of bingo halls since 1997 as almost a third of them have closed down since then. Personally I put it down mainly to the Internet but I'm sure some people dont attend their bingo halls as they are too frightened to leave their homes in some urban places for fear of being attacked and mugged, so using the Internet for those people is a godsend. For those that use to go to their local bingo halls they now play on the Internet like myself as it is more comfortable playing at home and you can play for free at a lot of the bingo sites which you cant do in any bingo hall.

I haven't actually been to any bingo halls in the town I'm presently living in but I have noticed that they have built a brand new building which is a purpose built modern club of Castle Bingo. I would rather play at home myself though as like you said it is far more comfortable and you can play for free all day and night if you want to.

I remember when I was younger seeing queues of mums and grannies outside the bingo halls, but not anymore. I still live nearby to a bingo venue but I dont see that many people coming and going anymore, I'm surprised it is still even open as it doesn't appear to be doing much business.

I assume you live in South Wales, Castle Bingo have 8 purpose built bingo clubs in SW. Not a lot really when you compare that to Gala who have over 175 throughout the UK and Mecca who have over 100 and apparently are still opening new clubs.

Yes I do, I guess Wales just isn't a big fan of bingo then.
