Gambling addiction

According to the latest figures released the number of people asking for help for their gambling addiction has risen by 20%. I wonder how that compares to the increase in the number of online casinos that are available for people to gamble on. :confused:

gambling addiction... man that gets my back up. I know people have mental problems, but addicted to gambling, I don't buy it. Lack of will power, selfishness, general disregard for family and loved ones seems more appropriate. I know people get natural highs which are chemical based and provide the foundations for addictive behavior, but you can compete without it costing money, or compete with smaller amounts. It's not like it's smoking or heroin is it?
It's just easier for morons to gamble now and rather than than stand up and say 'I've been a complete twat' they say they are addicted and it's not their fault. BOLLOX!

My Dad was a gambling addict and he was a twat too. :D He was mad for betting on the horses and would often lose his weeks wages on his way home from work on a friday in the local bookies, which is probably why my mum divorced him eventually. :( I dont remember there being any help for people with gambling problems them days either.

When you say he was an addict do you really think he was mentally/physically addicted to gambling, or do you think he was a selfish twat who liked to go out and gamble rather than stay at home?

Well, not if I am correct but you think of a person who did not like the "smarts phones" and now you feel the need to always be an iPhone and be playing online blackjack? I say this because in my case and in truth I had to buy a cel of those to keep playing in my spare time or I'm not in the house. Addiction? :o

Will new US gambling legislation make sports betting legal or illegal. I can not find the answer to this question, but I thought I read a while back that it would make it officially illegal.....

Hello Dear,
Addiction is something like disease. Which is very difficult to remove from human mind. Those are addict by playing the online casino game or poker, for me they are selfish and mindless. They won't love their family. They should play casino for time pass or enjoyment rather like addict one.

Hi Robert, I agree with you, they are selfish but to say they wont love their family is a bit harsh, they may not provide for them adequately as they most likely lose their cash but I dont think it makes them not love their families. Most addicts usually end up losing their families as a result of gambling addiction anyway. Thankfully there is help available for those that realise they have a gambling addiction nowadays.

i was thinking maybe i did mix up with imbue as well...but i doubt it...id ahve to be pretty stupid... to mistake imbuing with gambling and i do at least i think remember a detailed gambling guide...maybe it wasnt on classic forum.....hmm....

I've know a lot of gamblers who get addicted some of them are my friends and some of them I've known in internet, but I've notice that being under go to that situation is really hard, sometimes it really put you down and got thinner mindset when your depress. Well the only way to escape from that addiction is to ask for help to other people i mean seek for advice. That so effective and true.

Yes that is very true Taff, I think that is the only way to cure a gambling addiction, by seeking help from the likes of Gamblers Anonymous and other organisations.

Yap.. cause I've a friend before who get into addiction, but then he recovered fast through are help and from advice of some. Easy to handle if you have somebody at your side...
