Hi gamblers!

First of all I have to say this is a real nice forum I read some post in the past days, but joined only today and I did well! :) I think the people know about everything new on the net.

Anyway... I have a question: Poker - Texas Holdem : after the flop comes the small blind starts the round, but what happens after the turn and the river? For example 2 players... I'm the small and I call what the other player bet. Do I start the next round? Please help me.

Cheers,
Andrew

Hi Andrew,

Welcome to the forum! Your Texas Hold'em question is interesting. I wrote an article a way back explaining the game. I'm posting it the rules portion for you now:

Texas Hold'em
The betting starts on the left of the dealer before the cards are even dealt. The first two seats to the left of the dealer have forced blind bets, or bets that are done before they can view their cards. (The seat to the immediate left of the dealer is the small blind.) The first seat to the dealers left bets half of the lower limit and the second seat to the dealers left bets the lower limit. In other words, if the lower limit is $10 then seat two (seat one is the dealer) bets $5 and seat three bets $10. Once players have their hole cards the regular betting starts with seat four who can fold or quit, call and meet seat three's bet, or call and raise buy adding money to the minimum bet. Once the betting gets back to the two blind bets they may choose to raise their bets if they desire.

After the first round of betting is finished the dealer lays out the "flop" which is the first three community cards into the center of the table. This time the regular betting starts with seat two, the first seat to the left of the dealer. Checking is now allowed if desired.

"The Turn" is the name of the fourth community card dealt on to the table. Regular betting starts again with seat two. "The River" is the fifth community card dealt on to the table. This is the last round of betting.

The best hand of five cards is the winner. This hand can be composed of both the players hole cards and three of the table cards, one of the hole cards and the rest table, or all table cards if the player so wishes. If several players have identical winning hands they split the pot. Texas Hold'Em does not use sixth or seventh cards to break ties.

Players can request to the dealer to see another players hole cards once they have been "mucked" or discarded. This is how players can learn their competitions style of play and gain an edge.

In other words, after the turn and the river the game is over! I hope this helps. Have a great game!

Hi gamingmomma!

Thanks for the rules! So if I understand right the small blind starts every round (except the first one after dealing). After flop turn 'n river round starts with the small blind. If he fold's the next player next to him starts. Am I right? Thanks again!

Yes, if the small blind folds the next one starts the round of bets.
