The Boeing 767 has about 220 seats and is a very comfortable plane. Someone has decided to convert one of these planes – to start off with – into a flying online casino for use on long hauls, meaning flights of more than 6 hour duration. That’s about the limit of human endurance sitting trapped between two overweight passengers, unable to move about, consigned to watching the movies that the airlines decide to show and eating the food that the airline caterers dish up. It can get pretty heavy at times. Now we will have an exciting alternative. It all seems to depend on the hi-techies perfecting the aircraft’s Wi-Fi system, but if they managed to get all the other instrumentation to work at forty thousand feet this should be easy. They must be sure, though. Imagine the passenger who has gone ‘all in’ in his game of Texas Hold’em, has pushed a major pile of chips into the center of the table and is holding a royal flush in his hand? The plane passes a cloud and the wireless connection is lost? The online casino will offer all the usual online casino games and passengers will be able to choose a game to suit their mood. Does flying high mean high odds? Some games may be more suitable to play at high altitude than others. Will passengers choose to play slots? I certainly would, but only if the slots game is connected to a progressive jackpot, meaning high altitude, high stakes. The game that I think will be an all-time favorite on the flying online casino will probably be craps. This game is fast and noisy, pays high odds and can involve many players who all crowd around the shooter yelling their bets and instructions to him. Other fast games that will probably be popular are 3-card poker and baccarat. The airline may like to consider closing of a part of the casino for the baccarat room as is done in land based casinos.
