The stock exchange is no substitute for gambling online

The stock exchange is exciting, for sure, especially when the market is rising as it does on many days now. I sit in front of the computer with my miserable little portfolio up on the screen and watch the numbers yo-yoing up and down. But it’s all paper money anyway until I buy or sell something. On the other hand gambling online is instant satisfaction, or sheer pain. But that’s the name of the game – gambling. The stock exchange calls it by a more refined name – investing.

I’m watching Intel this evening. The share opened at $19.84 and quickly rose to $20.50 getting me quite excited. I dropped out of my Texas Hold’em game in the online casino and sat glued to the screen watching the Intel share. At this moment it’s standing at $19.89. All that fuss and heavy breathing for nothing! I wonder how many great jackpots I missed in that Texas Hold’em game?

Now I’m back in the casino but sneaking peeks at Intel. $19.83. I push a couple of $10 chips over for the ante and get my two cards, a 7 and a Jack, both diamonds. Intel is now $19.80. I push two more chips over and watch the flop come down. Not bad, a 4 and a Jack. I’m sitting with a pair of Jacks and feeling quite excited. I bet for the turn and am rewarded with a 7! I have two pairs! This is very exciting! I bet for the river and wait, holding my breath. Wow, a Jack – I have a full house Jack high! I win a sizeable jackpot and feel very good about gambling online. What’s with Intel?  $19.87.

The story is like this. I sat down with very little money this evening. I won about $300 in the poker game in the online casino. In the online brokers office I would have had to lay out $1984 for 100 Intel shares. In the space of time of the poker game, Intel shares went up by a miserable 3 cents, meaning I would have made myself a cool $3. Now you know why I prefer gambling in the online casino.
