Retirement is a great time for online gambling.

The problem is that you have to enjoy gambling online. When you are retired the days are l - o - n - g. There is a joke about this. One retiree asks another ‘what are you going to do tomorrow?’ the first one replies that he is going to the Post Office. And what did you do yesterday? I was at the bank. That’s what happens. One chore per day. There is also resting, eating and resting to fill the days.

Professor Cyril Parkinson was the ‘inventor’ of Parkinson’s Law. It works like this:
General recognition of this fact is shown in the proverbial phrase 'It is the busiest man who has time to spare.' Thus, an elderly lady of leisure can spend the entire day in writing and dispatching a postcard to her niece at Bognor Regis. An hour will be spent finding the postcard, another in hunting for spectacles, half an hour in a search for the address, an hour and a quarter in composition, and twenty minutes in deciding whether or not to take an umbrella when going to the mailbox in the next street. The total effort that would occupy a busy man for three minutes all told may in this fashion leave another person prostrate after a day of doubt, anxiety, and toil. Notice that there’s not a moment left in the day to do a little online gambling.

So my retirement days are not the fun I was expecting, but with the help of online gambling they are certainly more profitable than I expected. There must be another law for this, yet un-discovered. If you are not gambling to win, you will make lots of money. My pension is a good one and covers all my daily needs and even allows me to keep my trusty old car going. So I am not gambling to win money, I am gambling simply to help the hours pass by. And boy, am I making pots of money doing it!
