The painting is going slowly, about as slowly as great uncle Herbert used to walk. But it’s looking good and while it may not look a lot like Uncle, it will be good painting. The roulette game I am playing in the online casino is going well too. I hit a single number about half an hour ago. I dropped a $50 chip on Uncle Herbert’s birthday, 19, and it came up, putting me ahead by $1,750. Now I am scattering $20 chips in the serpentine formation which gives me many wins but the cost of playing is high. I put down 12 chips for each spin, meaning that I lay out $240 to win $700 and not every spin wins, but I’m keeping ahead nicely. The article I am writing moves in fits and starts. The editor seems to move only in fits…. of temper, accompanied by lots of yelling and shouting down the telephone line. He should take up online gambling if he wants to avoid a heart attack. I will try and squeeze that piece of advice into the next one-sided conversation. As for the hurricane, it really doesn’t affect me personally – luckily I am far out of the way. But there is a sort of morbid curiosity in watching a storm wipe out whole towns and cities. Anyway it’s moving slowly and one can still get in a lot of online gambling in between the deadly gusts of wind. I wonder if there is online betting on the path or the force of the storm. If there is, can one bet while the storm approaches or are the odds too high? So all in all, this multi-tasking works fine. I started off playing Texas Hold’em poker in the casino but the pace was too fast and I ended up rushing in and out of the studio and making an awful mess of Uncle Herbert. Once I switched to roulette and playing at my own pace there has been a great improvement, both to the online gambling and to the painting. Posted on: September 11, 2008
