I’m back in the gym, treadmill, deep-knee bends, treadmill, sit-ups, treadmill… you get the picture. My waistline stays firmly on 100, as though it has nothing to do with the rest of my body or life, inside the gym or out. It’s great to be independent. I have not reduced my level of online gambling but I have cancelled the dish of nuts, nibbles and drinks that were part of my private online casino which is in my study, accompanied by soft lighting and gambling music for such an environment.

The dress codes here are strict – minimum dress is a pair of shorts. This applies to both sexes – you can never tell who may walk in while you are in the middle of a game of Texas Hold’em poker or a spin of the roulette wheel. In the early days I used to think that if I had a bad night on Tuesday, it meant that I would win on Wednesday and so on. But online and other casinos don’t work like that.
