When the world sank into the quicksand of depression almost 2 years ago, the online gambling industry followed. Money is money and what happens to some money eventually happens to all money. Now things are improving, the markets are showing signs of recovery and so too are the online casinos.

I am convinced. I will go back into the market just as soon as I improve my investment stake by gambling in the online casino. Here goes. I choose a game of blackjack for my startup. I place $500 on the green table top and wait for my cards. Aha! I am dealt a jack and an ace – blackjack. What a great start! I take my winnings and let my bet ride. The dealer gives me a 7 and a 5. I ask for a hit and he deals me another 7. I stay and he busts. My startup is in the serious money already!

Again I follow my home made online casino startup rules. I pick up my winnings and leave my original bet. Here’s the deal - I get two 8’s. I signal that I want to split. I get an ace on the first and stay on 19. I get a 2 on the other. I ask for a hit. Another 2. Another hit. I get a 4. I have 16 and I stand. The dealer busts. It can’t get much better than this, can it? My investment stake is looking very healthy.

I click my way into the online casino lobby and make for the roulette table. This is the place where you can make it or break it in the spin of a wheel. I put my entire investment amount on one spin, ‘Evens’. This is a double or nothing bet. My knees are shaking, my hands flutter as I try and point the little arrow with the mouse. ‘Spin the wheel’, I command and I cannot watch as the wheel spins around and then slows, and I hear the clickety clack of the little white ivory ball as it jumps over the brass stops on the wheel. Silence. And the number is 8 Black! That’s ‘Evens’ too! Okay, everyone, let’s head for the stock market!
