Last night I watched one of those ‘End of the World’ movies and I went to bed feeling quite depressed. Is this what it’s all about? Why are we bent on self destruction – wars, starvation, drought, hurricanes, killer pandemics and nuclear destruction? I log into the online casino – it will be quiet and peaceful inside this make-believe world.

On my shoulder sits Lady Luck dressed in a long white outfit and with a yellow flower in her hair. She is smiling as I hear the clickety-click of the ivory ball and I lean forward and wait breathlessly. Yes! We shout together. My online casino world is still okay in all this madness. Number 23 it is. Happy birthday!

Of my $700 win I pick up $500 and leave $200 riding right where it is, on number 23. Are you ready Lady Luck? Good! Let’s spin the wheel. Of course it’s number 23 again! There’s $7,000 there now. I pick up $3,000 and put it in my pocket where it’s safe. I push the remaining $4,000 onto red, my lucky color for Tuesdays and I spin the wheel. Thank you my Lady. I take my $8,000 and leave. So what was wrong with the world again?
