On a baking hot day last week I stopped at the Aroma Coffee Shop for a cup of their special brew of iced coffee. I sat quietly at a small table near the window watching the people going by, the kids running wild and the traffic snarl outside in the street. Suddenly I heard a shout and I turned around to see what was going on. I found a small knot of guys standing around a laptop at one of the tables, all yelling and shouting. I walked over to see what they were doing. On the screen of the laptop was a wild game of craps going on in an online casino. I was amazed and between rolls of the dice I asked one of the spectators if this was a normal activity.

“It’s going on in every coffee house these days, the ones that offer WiFi, of course. Are you betting?”
“Sure I am! Big six!” and I dropped a $20 bill on the table. The big 6 bet is a wager that the 6 will be rolled before the 7 will. If any other number is rolled it doesn’t affect the result and the dice are rolled again. Of course I won and then I was hooked. These days I never walk past a coffee shop like I used to. I always stop and see what the action is. If it’s a game that I like and where I think I can make a quick kill I stay and play and I have to tell you that my record is quite astounding. I keep a small notebook in my pocket and so far, after about 2 months betting in the coffee shop online gambling scene, I am up almost a thousand dollars.

Most of that amount came from one win. I saw a game of roulette going on at the Coffee Bean and I dropped $10 on my birthday – No 23. It won and I left the $10 there. It won again giving me $700. I walked out immediately. I haven’t managed to repeat the exercise but I sure am having fun in the online casinos, I mean the coffee shops.
