Living out here in the eastern half of the world, we are far away from Flushing Meadows in New York. By time the play starts there I’m getting ready for bed, except that when it’s US Open Time I’m getting ready for another sleepless night. I love watching tennis and this tennis tournament in particular. The world is round and I am a victim of the curvature. There’s no away around it. So I take my laptop and hook it up near the TV set so I can operate both with ease. I also prepare some eats and drinks for the long night and I change into comfortable stay awake/go to sleep clothing. Then I’m all set up for the tennis, or is it the online gambling? The early part of the evening is fine. I watch TV with my wife, read the papers, lie on the couch or mess with my email. At about 10 my wife goes off to bed and I am left alone. Now I log into my favorite online casino, The Glass Fishtank and I usually start by playing on the slots to warm up. It’s not as easy as it used to be. Now the slot machines have 5 reels with twenty payout lines which means you have to pay attention to what’s going on. Once the tennis starts at about midnight, I slow the games down so that I can watch the tennis as well as do a little intermittent online gambling. The amount of online gambling I do in the night hours really depends on the quality of the tennis. When the really great like Federer, Nadal and Roddick are playing I gamble a lot less. Their tennis is superb and a delight to watch. When the lesser seeded players are on court I tend to gamble more. I find Roulette a suitable game for intermittent online gambling. The croupier doesn’t seem to mind waiting between spins and the gambling results are much the same for me. I win, no matter how well the players are doing. Posted on: August 24, 2007
