I’m squatting in the shade of a large English Oak, about 1,000 places back from the front and many thousands from the back of this line. My laptop is open, my air-phone is connected and I am logged into a great online casino. The game up on my screen is roulette and I’m accepting bets. “Place you bets, please!” I call in aloud voice and I watch with great satisfaction as many, many chips of different values are dropped all over the table on the screen. I click the ‘spin’ button and say “No more bets, thank you,” as the last chips are frantically placed in position. “Twenty three, red!” I announce as the little white ball falls into a slot on the wheel. A huge groan of disappointment fills the air followed by one great yell of satisfaction. One person got it right. He wins €350 for his €10 bet. All the other single and other number bets lose theirs and the red and black, odds and evens, dozens and column bets come out more or less equal. I am left with a healthy profit. I got back my money for the tennis tickets in the first half hour this morning. Now I’m working on getting back the cost of 2 first class flight tickets to Heathrow and after that I will be working on the tickets and entertainment money for next year’s cruise to the Caribbean. I should have all this buttoned up by time we reach the gates. This is where online gambling really pays off. What’s more, the bored and irritable gambling audience really appreciate the diversion that the online gambling offers them. I’ve collected quite a bit in tips as well! “Place you bets, please!” I call and I click the ‘spin’ button once more. About 20 to 30 people are gambling in my online casino and enjoying every minute if it. Perhaps I will just sit here permanently and offer online gambling services to the never-ending line as it passes. I can do this for the entire week of the tennis – so I’ll miss a few great services - so what? Posted on: July 7, 2008
