We were faced with the 4 hour flight from Rome to Tel Aviv, no big deal right? Oh how lucky I was to have my laptop with me! We arrived early, very early after we were warned about the traffic on the highway out of Rome, the long check in times for rental car returns and the ever-increasing security checks. Of course with all that time in front of us there were no holdups anywhere and we in the airport departure lounge with hours and hours to spare. I fired up my laptop and logged into the online casino. In minutes I had a crowd of people standing around me. I logged into a roulette site in the online casino and began playing with $5 chips. In a second one of the spectators asked of he could place a bet as well, so I let him. It was like opening the flood gates. Someone passed me a small note book and a pencil and I began making a note of the bets which were all being played out of my credit at the online casino. I had to play the croupier in the online casino as well, calling for bets and announcing ‘no more bets, please’. I spun the wheel, and I announced the winning number so the people about 4 rows back could hear the results. “21 Red!” – I was becoming quite professional at this. Perhaps I can apply for a job as a croupier at some casino or even at home parties if the job market doesn’t improve soon. Then the Italian security men arrived to see what the crowd of waiting passengers was up to. They cradle wicked looking automatic pistols in their arms and look very intimidating. It didn’t take long for the leader, the one with all the stripes and brass on his uniform, to ask me if he could place a bet in my online casino. “Just a leetle one, per favore?” Of course he won and then he called his men to come closer. Soon we had a wild game of roulette going in noisy Italian. Posted on: June 2, 2009
