It has a name, this airport – some long gone prime minister or president rapidly disappearing into the mists of history. But it has every modern convenience imaginable. Like super cold air-conditioning, an all-round-works-everywhere WiFi system, uncountable designer coffee shops and the best looking women on the continent. What better place to set up my new online public gambling casino? And that’s just what I did. I found a prominently situated bench in the middle of the departure hall, fired up my laptop, logged into the online casino and clicked to bring roulette onto the screen. I set the volume to ‘max’ and started betting heavily on every spin. You could hear the croupier calling, “place your bets” and “no more bets please” from five hundred feet away and it didn’t take long for a huge crowd of bored and restless travelers to collect around. Then they started calling out numbers and throwing money on the seat next to me.

There’s something about traveling that affects one’s spending. Everyone was betting with $50 chips and everyone was spreading many chips on the board for every spin. Once or twice single number bets came up and I paid out huge sums of money – a $50 single number bet wins $1,750 - but mostly the bets were on red or black or odds or evens and the payout is much smaller. I myself had few big wins and was about a thousand dollars ahead by 6 in the evening when I decided it was cool enough to venture outside and go home. I almost forgot. Four guys missed their flights through listening to the croupier instead of the public address. Two guys canceled their flights because they lost all their travel money on the roulette spins and two other guys bought laptops at the duty free store. When I left the airport they had taken over from me and were running huge online casinos of their own. All in all, it was a great day for everyone!
