Everyone was invited, the guys from the office, friends, family and even passers-by. I wanted this to be a rollicking event culminating with the final moments of the Euro 2008 Football Final, and it was! I had laptops scattered around the rooms of the house, and all were logged into online casinos. In the hallway I put up a directory board: Roulette and Craps in the living room. Texas Hold’em Poker in the master bedroom, Blackjack in the second bedroom, Bingo at the dining room table, Slots on the back porch, Video Poker in the hallway and Baccarat in the kitchen. The rules were easy to understand as well. I was the house. Assisted by 2 friends, I handled all the betting. We rushed from room to room taking the bets. On this night the online casinos got nothing out of it. I guess they were busy enough with the betting on the big football game anyway. My casino ran through the night. Caterers brought in breakfast between 6 and 8 on Sunday morning and served lunch on the lawn at 1 pm. I called my two assistants into the bathroom and we did a quick money count. We were up about $15,000 by then and we still had some hours of play left until the big match started. At 9 in the evening we wheeled the giant sized TV screen that we had hired onto the front lawn and got it tuned to the direct broadcast from Vienna. The online gambling stopped, everyone found comfortable seats and were offered drinks on the house while they watched the game. For this we organized betting with an online casino and various bets were offered: draw, straight win for Spain, straight win for Germany, extra time draw, extra time win for Spain, extra time win for Germany, Penalty shoot out, Golden Goal and every other bet and side bet imaginable. I placed $5,000 on Spain to win by one goal to nil and another $5,000 on an only goal being scored by Torres. That sports car is all mine! Posted on: June 26, 2008
