These terrorists are everywhere. Next time you’re at the airport waiting for a flight, look at the other people and see how many look like terrorists. It’s frightening. It makes you scared to fly. What I did today was to take the easy way out. I called the boss and told him that the 9:00 flight was sold out and that I would come on the 10:00 flight. Then I gambled online for an hour while I waited for the flight. I played Texas Hold’em in some online casino that was featuring a run-up to a major Poker tournament. I won the final hand with three kings, using one I had been dealt and another 2 from the community cards. Then they called my flight. I inspected the other passengers as we were walking to the plane and I got nervous again. I went back to the counter, changed to the 11:00 flight, called my boss and managed to get my seat back at that online poker game. I lost a lot of my chips in the next three hands but won them all back again in grand style in the next hand. I picked up a pair of 2’s in the deal, watched as another 2 hit the table in the flop, and almost fell off my seat with excitement as the dealer put down another 2 on the river. Image a hand of 4 of a kind! I wonder what the odds are for that in an online casino? I won a huge pot and I had just managed to gather myself and my winnings together when they called my flight. I ran for it without looking at any of the other passengers. I’m sure there’s a limit to my boss’ patience as well. So I will be playing in the World Series of Poker Tournament in London in August, that is, if I can pluck up the courage to fly in the face of all this terrorism. Posted on: June 13, 2008
