I barge into the doctor’s waiting room without knocking on the door. The waiting room is always so full and noisy that nobody hears a knock anyway. Now the waiting room is empty. The gorgeous receptionist, the one I have been trying to chat up for the past three years, is leaning back reading a magazine. And here am I, armed with my laptop and ready to do some serious online gambling while I wait. “Where is everyone?” I cry. “The doctor has been delayed at the hospital and I managed to cancel all his appointments. I called you but there was no reply.” I had thought that the call was my landlord looking for last month’s rent.

“You can wait. He should be here in about an hour. It’s up to you.”  I make quick decision. I will wait in the company of this delicious creature. I open laptop, and log into the Silver Screwdriver online casino and select Texas Hold’em. I bet one hundred dollars and she comes over to look.
“That looks interesting,” she says.
“Want to play?”  
“Okay. What’s the bet?”
I point at her shirt. “This is a sort of strip poker,” I lie.
“Okay.”
The flop gives her a pair of fours and myself an ace and a three. She picks up a pair of sevens from the turn and I get another ace. The river doesn’t help her but gives me another ace. I win. “Take it off,” I mutter. She stands up and drops the shirt.

We play another hand and this time it’s me who loses his shirt. She is enjoying herself. I ask her and she says this is her first venture into an online casino. I can tell where she will be spending time in the future. The poker game heats up and she is finally playing in her birthday suit. That’s when the door bursts open and the doctor rushes in. He looks at us in amazement. I am not fazed. I stand up in my socks and say, “I’m ready for your examination, doc.”
