According to Max’s wife, he suffered a bout of double pneumonia and spent almost two months in the lung ward of our local hospital, connected up to oxygen, water, food and everything else required to keep him going. When he was finally discharged it was to a rehabilitation center where he will be for another month while he gathers  strength to go back into the real world. He was not impressed when I walked in carrying my laptop, and made some rude remarks about me always being on the job. Not this time, I told him.
