Why I have never thought of the marina before is a mystery. Perhaps it’s because every artist paints the yachts in the marina and I don’t want to be like every other artist. Whatever, it was an exciting day yesterday. I have looked at the boats a thousand times and nothing registered except a thought about owning one and spending every weekend sailing. Yesterday was different, I never saw the boats – all I saw were the violent colors bobbing up and down to the waves and the wind. At home I splashed color on the canvas and then had to wait impatiently until the paint dried so I could continue working. “Why don’t you play on your computer?” suggested my wife and then the penny dropped. I grabbed the laptop and logged in at my online casino. In an instant my impatience ebbed and I settled down to an intriguing game of Texas Hold’em with some other players on an interactive online gambling site. There were 5 other players at the table and they were playing a tough game, bluffing each hand to the limit and none of them ever folding. In Texas Hold’em, you have to reveal your cards at the end of each hand and the best hand wins. This also shows how the bluffing was at the beginning of the hand when we bet with only 2 cards in our hands. Some of those guys really ought to be banned, but bluffing is a major element in any game of poker and I have great respect for a player who can get away with it. Now and again I sat out a hand while I checked my painting for dryness or added a stroke of bright red or yellow to a sail or a mast. At the end of the afternoon when the game broke up, I was ahead by 220 dollars in cash and the start of a great painting. From now on, all my paint-drying will be done in the online casino!
