That’s what I’ll do, I’ll see if I can interest her in gambling online as well. I mean it runs in the family, right? She didn’t hesitate for a minute. “Of course I know about online gambling! Have you forgotten that I play bingo down at the club every afternoon? Is there such a thing as online bingo?” I switched on my computer in the study and we logged into an online casino and quickly found the bingo game. Talk about getting excited. Mother took one look at the bingo site, plopped herself down in my computer chair and refused to get up for the next hour. We managed to pry her loose at dinnertime where she talked about nothing but the bingo game and how come she never knew how to get into online gambling. She folded at about ten o’clock, announcing that she had won a tidy amount, was tired and needed her sleep and what time does the internet open for business in the morning? Julie led her off to bed and I took over at the computer in the study. The computer was still logged into the online gambling and the bingo game was set on automatic, meaning that all one really has to do is to purchase a card and then sit back and let the computer do everything else including claiming your winnings. It’s pretty boring in some ways and very exciting in other ways. One can do other things in between, like reading a paper or attending to emails. I sat down and without logging out of the online casino, I opened my emails and began answering and deleting as necessary. Every now and again I purchased a bingo card, and the game proceeded with me there in spirit only. By time I had finished my evening routine with the emails, read the news headlines and attended to a couple of other things, I had racked up a nice little sum that I could use as my stake in a poker game. I logged out of bingo, logged into poker in the same online casino and got a seat in a game right away. Looks like I learned something useful from my mother after all! Posted on: March 6, 2009
