Gambling systems, get rich quick guaranteed. Sure fire way to make money. I made millions in a week's time with this system and there's no way you can fail. We all know the jargon of the get rich quick ad. A few weeks ago I was watching Monk (http://www.tv.com/monk/show/9130/summary.html&full_summary=1 ) and they were in Las Vegas. I missed the beginning of the show so I have no idea why they were in Vegas, but Lieutenant Randall Disher was gambling and had been using a book with a system in it. He was certain that he would win eventually because the book told him so. Instead, he got thousands of dollars in the hole and lost all of his savings. Now, this is a TV show so of course it had a happy ending with Monk doing his best Dustin Hoffman in Rain Man (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0095953/ ) impression and winning back the Lieutenants money. Monk also solved the crime and caught the bad guy. However, real life doesn't usually give us a Monk to watch over and get our money back when we lose. Real life means once the money's all gone there's no way to get it back. If only we all could have our very own Rain Man in the background ready to save us once we lost our money. There is no systematic way of betting that will guarantee you make money in a strategy free luck only game. Strategy free games are games where you make your bet and whatever happens, happens. You have no control over the outcome and there is no gaming strategy that can save you. That means betting in a certain way for roulette, craps, slots, or keno will not affect the game itself or your odds of winning. It may, however, guarantee you lose your money that much faster. The typical gambling system logically states that you should bet more when you are winning and less when you are losing. The thing is, unless you are psychic it is impossible to know how long your winning or losing streak will last. The Martingale system is especially dangerous to your pocket book. With the Martingale System players are told to increase their bets when they lose, doubling with every loss. This is a great way to give your money to the casino. One rather benign system is the progressive betting system. With this system players only progress when they are up. Say you bet $5 and win, you stay where you are. Then you make another $5 and win, this means your next bet will be $7.50 as you have some profit and a buffer. If you win again you progress some more and if you lose you go back to $5 on your next bet. However, even with this system there's no way to guarantee you walk away from the table with money as there's no guarantee you will win and get ahead. There are ways of betting which can lower your risk levels, such as hedge bets. Craps players may choose to make a $10 wager on don't pass bet while making a simultaneous $6 wager on 6 and 8 each. This way if the shooter sevens out the player loses only two dollars. However, if the shooter throws some sixes and eights before he or she sevens out the player will have a nice profit. Skill games do have strategies that will help you lower the house odds. However, these strategies have nothing with how you bet and everything to do with how you game. By taking the time and learning proper strategy for your favorite skill game (such as blackjack or poker) a player can reduce the odds considerably and may even be able to edge the odds over to their favor. This takes a lot more work than just learning a simple (but useless) betting system. This takes studying and practice. Fortunately there are places all over the web which give out basic strategy for blackjack and poker for free and all internet casinos and poker rooms offer play for free games which allow you to hone your skill before you buy in. Taking advantage of this is simply smart. Paying attention to the rules of the game before you play is another thing to keep in mind. There is one system that no casino wants you to take advantage of, and that is counting cards. Counting cards is illegal in Las Vegas casinos and if caught could get you kicked out and banned for life. Counting cards online is a whole other issue, as most internet casinos make it irrelevant by shuffling after every game. The nice thing about playing online once you have learned your strategy is the fact that you can practice it for free. No land based casino would allow a player to play for fun free just to test out their skills. Furthermore, once your skills are honed and tested you can take advantage of the internet casino's generosity and receive bonuses in which to play. This way you have more chances of winning. Of course, players should always check out the promotional terms and conditions before accepting a bonus. Often the wagering requirements will be higher for skill games, such as 40x the deposit plus bonus rather than 20x the deposit plus bonus for slots. By increasing the wagering requirement the internet casinos are closing the gap between the house edge and the extra money they give you. As such we recommend you find the lowest wagering requirement for skill games before depositing. Wagering systems never work, however learning strategy and proper gaming skills always does. That is why casinos love wagering systems and hate players who actually practice their game. Taking advantage of an internet casinos generosity and playing for fun free isn't just a nice thing to do, it's smart as well. So next time you see an ad guaranteeing you wins just by learning their system, steer clear. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Posted on: March 23, 2006
